The matches were originally scheduled to have been played outdoors. Heavy rain on the first day forced the organisers – Netball Federation of Sri Lanka & Polonnaruwa District Netball
Association to shift the tournament indoors. It may have been a drawback for some outstation teams but most of the young ones may have obtained vital experience playing indoors for the first time.
