Shewon Fonseka Achieves Highest Ever World Ranking

27 year old Shewon Fonseka of Sri Lanka has achieved one of the greatest individual milestones in the country’s Indoor cricket history, earning the World No. 3 ranking following his outstanding performances at the 2025 Indoor Cricket World Cup held in Colombo.

The ranking places Shewon Fonseka among the elite players in International Men’s Indoor Cricket. This ranking was based on the performances at the Indoor Cricket World Cup. In the 11 matches he played, scoring 193 runs & capturing 17 wickets was unprecedented for a Sri Lankan. he was the highest run scorer at the World Cup Championship & also one of the high valued & standout performers.

Now based in Dubai, the achievement of this gutsy strategis reflects his consistency, dedication & commitment to the sport, placing him amongst the elite indoor cricket players in the world, with only two Australians ahead of him in the rankings.

This is the first time a Sri Lankan player has achieved such remarkable stats at an Indoor Cricket World Cup. The Sri Lankan Indoor Cricket community is greatly inspired, much appreciative & absolutely elated about Shewon Fonseka & his historic deed.
