The 17th annual encounter for the Tyronne De Silva Challenge Trophy was held at the MCA ground, Colombo. It was inaugurated in 2004 by the then President of the MCA in whose name the Challenge Trophy is named.
Lanka Cavaliers led by Nalliah Devarajan, put into bat130 / 7 – ( 20 Overs ) Asanga Perera 37, Nalliah Devarajan 20 – the pair put on 40 runs in 41 balls for the 03rd wicket – Ravi Subasinghe 22 no, Mahesh Wijenayake 12 no – involved in a 35 run unbroken stand for the 08th wicket – Carman Mapatuna 15, Mahesh Wijewardene 3 / 30.
MCA Committee led by Rohana Dissanayake in reply, 131 / 7 – ( 19.4 Overs ) Opener Tharinda Kaluperuma 60 no ( 50 balls, 4 x 6 ), Duminda Pinto 37 ( 22 balls, 2 x 6, 2 x 4 ) – the pair were involved in a match winning 65 run partnership for the 06th wicket in 33 balls, recovering from 55 / 5 in 12.3 Overs – Manoj Perera 2 / 24, Carman Mapatuna 2 / 25.
