CAVA 02nd Men’s Challenge Cup 2023 Begins
The Central Asian 02nd Men’s Challenge Cup Volleyball Championship 2023 was declared open by the Prime Minister, Dinesh Gunawardene at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium. The Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation under the supervision of the Central Asian Volleyball Association are conducting this tournament with 17 matches to be played over 06 days of competition. 06 teams – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan & hosts / defending champions – Sri Lanka are participating. 09 others Bhutan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Pakistan, Tajikistan & Turkmenistan opted to stay away.
President, Central Asian Volleyball Association – Mohamed Latheef & President, Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation – Kanchana Jayaratne, Referee Delegate – Mohammad Shamiri of Iran, Heads of Diplomatic Missions of all 05 foreign teams were among the distinguished invitees who were present on the ocassion.
