Sri Lanka Olympic Day 2025 Celebrated Promoting Unity,Culture & Sport With the Participation of many Enthusiasts
The spirit of Olympism came alive in the historic southern port city of Galle as the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka celebrated the Olympic Day with a vibrant and much inclusive event that brought together athletes, students, officials and the wider community.
The celebration began with the symbolic flag – off of the Olympic Day walk. Participants from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura, Olympions, School Children, Representatives from the Government Organizations of the Galle District and a wide range of sports stakeholders joined the Walk, embodying the Olympic Values of excellence, friendship and respect towards all.
Cultural performances were an integral part of the celebration, showcasing the rich heritage of the Southern Province. Three traditional dance performances were staged by talented students from the Southlands College and Sanghamiththa Girl’s School, delighting the audience and adding colour to the event.
The event emphasized the role of sport in promoting healthy lifestyles and social inclusion. The Olympic Day 2025 in Galle was a powerful reminder of the unifying power of sport and culture, inspiring all participants to embrace the Olympic Spirit in their daily lives.
