Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya Are Champions

The 02nd OVEP Debater 2020 Championship was held on a Virtual Zoom basis due to the COVID 19 pandemic last year. Only 20 schools were selected to be participants despite more than double that number applying to be involved.

The Awards presentation ceremony was held at the Hemasiri Fernando Auditorium of the Olympic House in Colombo. Due to health concerns, the participation was restricted. The new learning experience for the participants as well as the organisers & the conducting of the event over 05 days posed many new challenges. The much valued experiences for all was fascinating whilst being educational too. It was also revealed that this year, the event is being planned to be held in Sinhala, Tamil & English covering as many of those schools involved from as many districts as possible.
