IOC Gets First Ever Lady President

Kirsty Leigh Coventry Seward created history in the global sports administration sphere, being elected as the historic first ever female president of the iconic International Olympic Committee – the apex body of the world in the field of sports administration.

The 41 year old Zimbabwean is the Minister of Youth, Sports, Arts & Recreation of Zimbabwe. The former 05 time Olympion has won 07 medals in 04 swimming events at 02 consecutive
Olympic games : 01 Bronze, 04 Silvers & 02 Golds in 200M backstroke. The one time world record holder has won joint most medals in women’s swimming in Olympic history. She is considered as the greatest ever Olympic athlete from Africa.

The former chair of the IOC Athletes Commission has been an IOC member since 2013. The 10th IOC President elect was the youngest & the only female of the 07 contenders who faced the election.
