Hopes Rise as Games Begins

04th Asian Para Games 2022 – Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China

Ding Xuexiang, Vice Premier of China declared the 04th Asian Para Games 2022 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. The 07 day event will feature over 3000 Para Athletes from 42 Nations who will compete in 566 Events covering 22 Sports ( 23 Disciplines ) at 19 Venues.

The Athletes Oath was taken by Chinese Men’s Goalball player, Yu Qinquan & former Chinese Women’s Gymnast, Jiang Yuyuan. The Judges Oath was taken by Chinese duo Chen Ran & Xia Xin. The Torch was lit by Xu Jialing – the Chinese Women’s Swimmer.

Hosts, China will field the biggest contingent of 439. India will have 309 while Japan will field 259. Team Iran is 210 strong & Team Sri Lanka numbers 26 for 08 sports.
