Biggest Online Asian Chess Event
The Western Asian Youth Online Chess Championship 2021 will be held from 19th to 27th September. With over 850 players from 15 countries participating, it is the biggest online Asian Chess event held on the Tornelo Platform. Organised by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka & conducted by the Asian Chess Federation, the event will be conducted under 06 age groups for Girls / Boys & Open category.
Hisham Al Taher, Secretary General of the Asian Chess Federation was the Chief Guest at the Opening Ceremony. Hon. Namal Rajapakse – Minister of Youth & Sports, Sri Lanka sent a recorded message.
Bangladesh, India, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Nepal, Oman, Palestine, Sri Lanka, Syria, United Arab Emirates & Uzbekistan are the countries participating. India has the biggest participation with 380, Sri Lanka has enlisted 200 & Iran is competing with 161.
