The Olympic Games Organising Committee of LA 2028, the hosts of the 34th Summer Olympic Games, held a media briefing at the Main Press Centre. Participating at the Head Table were Casey Wasserman – LA28 Chairperson & President – a sports & entertainment mogul together with Karen Bass – Her Worship, Mayoress of Los Angeles – politician, social worker & a former physician assistant – the 43rd mayor of the City of Los Angeles in the State of California. They said the idea is to Paint the Games authentically LA – the city with Fashion, Film, Music & Food to be enjoyed by all. The most diverse city on planet earth according to Casey, will be a No Car Games – meaning the public transportation system will be used exclusively. with more than 3000 buses from around the country to be used as emphasised by Karen. The Angelinos – the residents of Los Angeles will enjoy the economic & social benefits with a special engagement of the youth. There will be 05 sports on debut in the next Olympic Games to be held in the North American city which was also the host in 1984 too. Casey maintained that with 36 sports in the schedule, it will be the greatest gathering of athletes at a major global sports event, ever. Already US $ 160 million has been estimated to be spent in the programme Play LA, in the lead up to the Olympiad in 04 years time. LA28 will be a geener games as almost all of the facilities are already existing. When the first mayoress of Paris, hands over the Olympic Flag to the first Mayoress of Los Angeles, it will also be a historic occasion. The symbolic & historic gesture will be followed by the Olympic Flag being flown to the next host city in a Delta Airlines flight with the Games Emblem displayed & also accompanied by some 60 leading USA athletes who were Team USA members in Paris. The flag will then be hoisted outside the city hall, as is the tradition.

39 year old Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya is considered to be the greatest marathon runner ever. He has completed 21 official marathon distances around the world. He is the only man to win two Olympic golds, that too back to back in Rio de Janeiro & Tokyo. He was one of 10 runners who did not finish at Paris 2024 – the first time he experienced that situation. Now he is retired from competing but did not rule out a role in the event in another capacity.
