19 Participants Awarded Diplomas In Management of Olympic Sport Organisations

ICC NOCSL 08th Advanced Sport Management Course 2021 / 2022 – Diploma Certificates awarding ceremony – Olympic House, Colombo

In the year 2007 Olympic Solidarity of the International Olympic Committee invited the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka, National Federations of the country & Organisations responsible for the development & management of Olympic Sport in Sri Lanka to join this unique opportunity. 02 years later the training programmes commenced.

The objective of the Advanced Sports Management Courses is to equip the participants with the knowledge & tools to help them to bring about change & improvements in their respective sports organisations for volunteers & paid staff in them. Olympic Solidarity strongly encourages National Olympic Committees to promote women sports administrators by ensuring equal access to professional training opportunities for women & men.The courses are managed by a Programme Director appointed by the Olympic Solidarity of the International Olympic Committee who has been qualified by appropriate training. Course Facilitators & Local Experts assist the said Programme Director & are collectively responsible for the delivery of the programme. Advanced Courses are based on the Managing Olympic Sport Organisations manual & are to comprise of 06 chapters. Distance learning ( self learning ), Residential learning, Presentation of Case Studies, Completing the corresponding Learner’s Guide are some aspects of the course structure. Participants are volunteers & paid staff of executive level of the National Olympic Committee, National Federations & other organisations / bodies responsible for the development of Olympic Sports.
