The Assistant Secretary of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka & a member of the Management Staff at Brandix Apparels, he is well known in local Basketball administration too. Dr. Himan de Silva will be accompanying the contingent as the COVID Liason Officer. A past pupil of Dharmaraja, Kandy & an Alumni of University of Ruhuna, he has excelled in Cricket. An Olympic Sports & Excercise Physician & Lecturer on the subject with the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, he is also a member of the Medical Committee of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka. Educated in Sri Lanka & England, he is involved as a Sports Medicine Training Coordinator of the Ministry of Health. He is attached to the Teaching Hospital in Karapitiya, Galle. Games Operations Officer of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka & the Tokyo 2020 Games facilitator is Hansika Wijayagunasekara. An Alumni of the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka & the Seoul National University – South Korea, she is a past pupil of Anura Central, Yakkala & Rathnavali Balika, Gampaha. Also traveling to the Games would be President, Suresh Subramaniam & Secretary General, Maxwell De Silva. Designated as Team Captains are Milka Gehani De Silva ( Women’s ) & Chamara Nuwan Dharmawardena (Men’s) who will carry the Sri Lanka Flag together at the Opening Ceremony.

Mathew Abeysinghe is considered a gem in the pool. Born in the United States of America, he is completing his university higher education in that country. A member of the top rung Killer Whale Aquatic Club in Sri Lanka, he is coached by his Sri Lankan father Manoj Abeysinghe. Some knowledgeable sources consider him to be the best swimmer ever to represent the country on the world stage. During his Olympics debut in Rio, he was able to qualify for & compete in a final. This is his second Olympics. The youngest member of the contingent is Swimmer Aniqah Gaffoor. The 17 year old was born in Sri Lanka. Then the family migrated to Malaysia in 2008. The Leading Woman Communicator serving the Sri Lanka Navy is a past pupil of Good Sheppard’s Convent – Naayakkanda, Wattala & 07th Day Adventist High School – Rilaulla, Kandana. She is in Sport Shooting as a member of the National Shooting Pool since 2012. Versatile Judoka Chamara Dharmawardena is set to be a two time Olympian. He will be in the Men’s 73 Kgs class. A past pupil of Wewatenna MV & Jinaraja MV – both of Gampola, he is employed by the Sri Lanka Air Force & is in the sport for the last 15 years.
